Bowling then OUT!!

Alex's Game

Cornhole

The tailgaiting game has its own video game... I know that it can be difficult to golf or even bowl but come on people!!! How lazy do you have to be to not be able to get in a non-virtual round of cornhole???

West Palm Beach June 08

I made it to the beach today... I went with my cousin Alex (who claims to hate the beach)

The trip wasn't the longest but was enough for me to get some sun and get to be out in the water for a while.

Golfing in Florida

Yesterday my cousin Alex and I went to a golf course for some fun on the links. I had sworn off golf until I was 40, but with some odd weather down here and a limit on what I can do I thought I would teach him a thing or two.

Here is a video of the Clash of the Titans

This is the taco that fueled me

Special thanks to Taco Bell for supplying the pre-round food

It was pretty out when the lightning stopped

Rehab

The weather here hasn't been good for the beach, so I have spent my time getting ready to run again.

Square Grouper and Rum Bar

The other night we hit the bars beach style... although it was a little too hot and muggy to be outside.

We started off the night at a bar called Square Grouper... Their claim to fame is they are where the Alan Jackson video for 5 o'clock somewhere was shot.

This is a beach bar for older people. There were more cougars than college kids. It was however a great place to people watch.

After being there for a while we headed to the Rum Bar.... where things looked the same, but the average age went down a little.

This a pic of what things look like at night

The most interesting thing about this place is that when I went to order a beer a guy closed his tab and it was under the name Johnny Walker. On his ID was the name John David Walker. There are more of us out there.

All in all a decent but short night...

Florida Nights

Last night was my first night here in West Palm so of course I had to go out. I went out with my cousin Amaia and some friends Robyn and Lauren.

My cousin is the one on the left

I had more pictures but apparently Amaia posed for all of them with the same puckered face.

Not really a mojor part of the trip but the moon looks a little odd down here. I had to set the computer on top of Lauren's head to steady the shot.

After finishing up with the town we went apartment shopping....Lauren liked the fridge in this one.

Needless to say I spent the majority of today recovering. Wash, Rinse, Repeat...

My Trip Down South

I am now in West Palm Beach with family... The drive was brutal. It total somewhere around 14 hours in the car. I made a brief pit stop in Charleston and stayed in the sketchiest hotel in town.

This is a video of the trip thus far...

TRIP BEGINS

I am leaving in less than an hour for a beach trip that will hopefully end up lasting about 3 weeks... wish me luck.

Last biz in the Burg

Before heading out of town for some extended stints at the beach I made it to an Irish Sesiun at the local pub. Basically it entails just a bunch of musicians sitting around and playing a mix of traditional Irish music and some local flavor.

Just a pic of the outside of the pub

A glorious Guinness tap

View down the bar.

I didn't get any pics of the music cuz my hands were busy with my guitar... now on to the beach.

ROAD TRIP! Beach Style

Come 4th of July I am heading to the beach with some friends so to get ready for that trip I am heading to other beaches for a "practice run" for a week or two.

This is the map for the trip

My first stop is to visit a friend or two down in Myrtle beach for a little bit...

Then do the same in Charleston, SC...

Then head further South and possibly swing through Daytona Beach for a day...

And finally arriving in West Palm Beach where I will be staying with relatives.

The length of the trip is uncertain, but the one thing I am certain of is that I will be doing very little and getting a tan. It is hard to walk a mile in the shoes of Jonny Walker (due to the broken leg) but it is sure looking like it could be interesting.

Bob Drinks Bud Light Lime

So the other night Bob ran out of options and had to drink a bud light lime... DO you think he enjoyed it?

Hittin the trail

I finally got up the courage to bring the bike out of retirement.

I did manage to get in about 5 miles on the bum leg

Some clips from the trail

Now to do it again today.

Walking is Dangerous

The other day I went walking the trail (I made it 3 whole miles). The real story of the trip was the perils that I faced.

Over the course of the trip I had to fight and dispose of 2 giant anacondas

In actuality one was a black snake

The other was a garter snake named Henry (but pronounced French to sound like onry).

The third beast I faced was an evil dragon

The dragon had yet to fully grow though and looked more like this

Needless to say, I am a hero.

Cold Air YAAAAAY

The weather has got a little hotter here so I decided to get a small AC unit for the room because while most people are elsewhere during the day, I am sitting in my room, at least for the next month or so.

AC Unit - Check
Window - Check

Some assembly - Check

Cold Air - Check

Needless to say, my room now also doubles as a walk-in refridgerator.

Too Busy Walking

I haven't blogged in a while because I have been too busy enjoying the freedoms (although limited) of walking.

I have been moving so much here recentlu it is hard to catch me in pictures.

The other day I went to this guy's birthday

Shaw played with people slightly over his maturity level.

And Bob played the longest game of left-handed darts in history. It ended in a draw because neither could shoot a bullseye.
