Just an Update

Today has been a typical uneventful day that I have grown accustomed to over the past year and a half. Technically I am now living in England (at least for 2 more months) so I am not out traveling at the moment.

This down time has made me look toward the future and wonder just where the travels will take me. It seems that I am more and more likely to be making a stop back in the USA in either August or a little later and then on to who knows where. The whole concept of the future has been foreign to me since I actually reached adulthood so I now wonder where I will be in a years time.

In my constant pursuit of education though I have decided to get my full TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification so that I might be able to continue my travels while possibly honing a skill set and learning new languages as I go, but will I actually use it or will it be like me degrees that reside in frames and wait to be dusted off?

Not really sure where I am going with this I guess I am a bit lost... then again I kind of like it that way.

Summer is trying to start in England

The sun has been making some appearances here in Birmingham England but it just doesn't stay around long enough. It peeks out from behind the clouds just long enough to get you to head out of the house then vanishes behind dark clouds that bring cold wind.

With any luck this guy will manage to soak in a little bit of the sunshine before it hides again. I am off to try now.

Moseley Park

I know I have been really lazy about posting, but I am really lazy. Yesterday I went to Moseley park here in Moseley Village. It was the first truly beautiful day of the year here in Birmingham so I went out to get a little sun and toss around the frisbee.

There is a lake that has massive fish in it that guys like this never catch.
Ben attempted to do some poi.

Haley and Ben were both there.

Amy and Haley fed the swans and ducks.

They got kinda close and posed for some photos.

Since my schedule has changed I find myself looking toward Paris for a little museum hopping and then on to Nothern Ireland to complete my UK map.

Stayed up all night

To see if I could repair my sleep pattern I have stayed up all night. It is now going on 11am and still no sleep, but I need to keep it up until at least 8pm tonight to get things back in order. What a long night of movies and video games.... now that I think of it was similar to many of my days. My life is sad.

Fixing my sleep schedule

With a big weekend ahead of me and a new adventure starting next Wednesday to Eastern Europe I am now attempting to fix my sleep schedule. It has been my recent habit to fall asleep around 4 or 5 in the morning and wake around 1. This will not work if I move ahead a couple of hours in my travels because then I will become entirely nocturnal. So, to remedy this I plan to stay up all night and into tomorrow.

Wish me luck because it could be a long night.

Riding the bus.... because it's fun!

It is rumored that the 50 bus route is the busiest in all of Europe. It runs up to once every 4 minutes. (Warning this is a boring video because it is just sitting on a bus)

Gone to Wales.... for the bank holiday

In my constant pursuit of new countries I found myself in Wales for the long weekend here in England.

I passed through Swansea and spent most of my time in the town of Mumbles on the coast.

The pier was packed with other people on holiday

There is even a castle in town

and a great bridge separates it from the rest of Britain.
Granted I spent most of my time on this little couch with a cold one in hand for some quality relaxation.

The Ram Inn Holme Chapel

On my way back to Birmingham with Aaron we passed through Holme Chapel to see this pub. Apparently Aaron's great-great grandfather used to run this pub in the late 1800s. It was not actually an inn though so wen were lucky enough to get to camp out back.

The town was very nice and the graveyard consisted of about 50 people all with the same last name as Aaron.

Aaron is now back in the USA via Aer Lingus. Pics of Wales soon to come.

Still Traveling.

I was in Birmingham the other night but haven't got any pictures up as of yet. I now find myself in Wales for a long weekend. Maybe some posts tomorrow.... we'll see.
