Internet Down
OK so I think I have found a place to put some pics up from here in Buenos Aires Argentina. With any luck I should get some up tonight and tomorrow. Sorry for the lack of posts recently.

Down by the Water in Buenos Aires
Today I walked down to the water to relax a little and cleanse my system. It is quite nice down there.
Then I stopped for a snack, the sun, and the view.
The food was great and it didn't even set me back $10, and this was a fancy place.

The Feast
Yesterday Kris with a "K" introduced me to some of his Canadian friends and other traveling companions and they invited me to feast with them. First we went to the grocery store to gather the goods.
You can't see it in the pic but the line was down the entire wall, and we were the foreigners slowing everyone down.
Then others cooked, while I partook in a glass of wine.

Checking out Plaza of Misery in BA
So today I transferred into a new hostel here in Buenos Aires. It is the Milhouse hostel in Centro BA. It is run by Hosteling International, so it is nice and appears pretty safe. Hopefully I should be here for a couple of days before getting my apartment.
Today i ventured out with a new friend who goes by Kris with a K. I know it is hard to wrap your head around but he is Canadian so I guess it is OK for such radical thinkers. He made the mistake of venturing out with me to the knock-off shopping district that is at Subte stop Plaza de Miserere which I am certain translates into Plaza of Misery.
We stopped to grab a bit to eat and afterwards asked our waiter to take a picture. He was at first upset that there was no food on the table, but soon the older gentleman that had been standoffish became a professional photographer.

Pic 3, notice how we are merely background figures in comparison to this pissed-off stranger.
I am fairly certain he took 20 more pictures or so, but they didn't show up on my camera. BA is quite the town for hospitality.

Yesterday i visited the National Congress here in Argentina. OK so really I was looking for discount t-shirts (because I hate doing laundry), but it was Sunday so everything was closed. The building itself is modeled after the US Capitol building. Inside it houses the two chambers: Honorable Camara de Senadores and the Honarable Camara de Diputados.
On the front lawn there were street artists painting murals in support of the conflict in Bolivia. This is my personal favorite.
Then to relax from my big day I went to the Hard Rock Cafe, Buenos Aires and actually went inside this time. I had some Hot Wings and a few drinks. I took my friend Cami, who had her wallet stolen earlier in the day.
NOTE: Hot Wings in the US are so much more delicious than down here.

Casa Rosada and Bicycle Racing in BA
La Casa Rosada (Spanish for "the Pink House"), officially known as the Casa de Gobierno ("Government House") or Palacio Presidencial ("The Presidential Palace"), is the official seat of the executive branch of the government of Argentina. In Peru there was a foot race and in Argentina there was a bike race. Granted I have no idea what it was because the announcer should have worked as an auctioneer.

Dave Matthews Band Buenos Aires Argentina
Last night I played the typical American card and caught a concert here in Buenos Aires. I had never seen DMB play in the US, although I am fairly certain that almost everyone I know has.
Last night DMB was the headliner for a bunch of South American acts . Here is a pic of the concert.

Buenos Aires Argentina
I am now in Buenos Aires Argentina. I am still getting used to my new surroundings and I am not certain of much yet. I am basically just posting some pics I took on day one.
This is the Obelisk, which some say is the actual center of town here in BA.
This is just a fun shot of an amazing tree in one of the parks
Every city has a Hard Rock, and BA is an every city. This is also the location where I picked up my tickets for Dave Matthews Band. Pictures to come tomorrow.

To wrap up my last day in Santiago, Chico, Cami, and I ran some errands around town and saw some more of the city.
Then we ate at an eatery that served typical Chilean fare. They call this small restaurant something that doesn't translate to English very well. I will let you research it on your own.
Then we got ready for the big night out. These two were terrific hosts. Apparently in this picture it also shows that I gained 20 lbs during my time in Santiago.
The night was big, but sadly no pictures. The only thing I can say for certain is that when I returned home I had one of these signs dismantled with this sexy face as a sheet on my bed. Dupre has got my vote.

Trekking in Santiago
Despite a bum leg I decided to do a little walking around Santiago... granted I did not intend on walking so much when I started. This morning my friend Cami had some classes so I opted to be taken into town and meet back up with her when she was leaving. I really hadn't taken the time to walk around, mostly due to the first time I was in town was after snowboarding and I could still barely walk.
The weather was much rougher than it has been today, but that didn't stop me.
I went by the National Zoo, but it seemed to be terribly busy with school children.
Although the view of the city from up near the zoo was nice.
On a warmer and clearer day I would have made it up to the top of the mountain above the zoo for more views, but the cloud was a whopping 20 feet above me.
I also snapped this picture. The building looks important, but I have no idea what it is. If you figure it out please let me know. In total I would say that I walked well over 10 miles today. If something looked interesting I checked it out. Now just a few more days left before Buenos Aires.
