Back to the States - In Food

I decided to document my trip back to the states with food so here it goes.

Early the morning of the 28th I found myself in the Birmingham Aiport settling for BK.

On my Aer Lingus flight from Dublin I chose the Beef and Pasta over the Chicken and Veg option.

My first meal back in the states was a moderate half-rack of ribs and loaded mashed potatoes from Chilis. (Oh yeah and a Coors Light)

Back at the house on the 29th I enjoyed some Buffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dressing and an ice cold Pabst Blue Ribbon.

And later that day I attended a feast and pretty much enjoyed the best that the USA has to offer. I have missed the food here. Go Mountaineers.

Visitor from the UK

Amy (From my travels in Peru and Argentina) arrived yesterday to the United States. She has been back in England saving up money to travel again and was convinced to fly over for New Years for her first visit to the USA.

She flew into the Dulles Airport in DC

I then got to play the role of tour guide and took her to see the sights in DC. The White house was all lit up for the holidays.

Lincoln was doing it big as well. (That is me in the front left...)

After the sights I acclimated her to American cuisine by taking her to one of our many chain restaurants fro RIBS. Apparently ribs in the UK just are not the same, and the portion size is a little different.

After a night in DC we came back to Lewisburg and met up with BOB.

Ribs

So I have been trying to figure out how to make "fall off the bone" ribs, but have had little luck. Yesterday I attempted again and failed. I make my own sauce that is good, but the ribs still lack in tenderness. I never knew it could be so delicious to fail at something.
