Amy the Outlaw

Guns are illegal in England, but permitted in the US so we took Amy out for some shooting. She is a natural.

Here is a vid of the rounds.

Living it up - Fancy

Now that Amy is here, I decided to class it up a bit. Last night we went to the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs with my parents. It was quite the classy ordeal.

Here is a video of the day. (Note - we started out with fine American cuisine)

Visitor from the UK

Amy (From my travels in Peru and Argentina) arrived yesterday to the United States. She has been back in England saving up money to travel again and was convinced to fly over for New Years for her first visit to the USA.

She flew into the Dulles Airport in DC

I then got to play the role of tour guide and took her to see the sights in DC. The White house was all lit up for the holidays.

Lincoln was doing it big as well. (That is me in the front left...)

After the sights I acclimated her to American cuisine by taking her to one of our many chain restaurants fro RIBS. Apparently ribs in the UK just are not the same, and the portion size is a little different.

After a night in DC we came back to Lewisburg and met up with BOB.

Christmas Past

Christmas has once again past and most of us now find ourselves with more stuff than we started with.

My Christmas was simple. I awoke and did gifts with my parents around 11.

Some of the loot...

More of it...

Contribution to the environment (note to self: look into ways to avoid this)

My parents hit up some rounds of Dancing With the Stars (Bros cat pictured)

Then went to the China Buffet to properly celebrate the season
It is the only restaurant open in town.

Happy Holidays

The tree is up here at the house and the season is kicking off tonight. Just thought I'd throw up a few pics of home so I can remember it when I am in Panama here in a week or so.

Enjoy the season

My mother has a thing for snowmen.

I received this picture the other day from my brother (third from the left) the other day. He is currently stationed in Iraq. Jonnywalkeradventures.com just went hardcore.

Special thanks to my bro and the Suicide Kings for the pics.

Shots of School

I had to run to my school today (yes I am in school) to pick up a Student ID because I am tired of missing out on discounts that come with the ID.

Note the from the car photography

I actually saw the inside of the library. There is always an opportunity to have a personal "first".

Out in the Burg

Had to do it up big the other night. Forget what country I am in, there is a party

Snowboarding for a day

I decided that I needed a little break from home so I headed up the mountain for a day to get in some much needed snowboarding. Other than some small lift lines the weather was great.

You probably can' t tell from the pic, but I am actually moving downhill.

Not sure what my plan is to get my snowboarding fix for the season yet, but I am working on it.

Holiday Card from jonnywalkeradventures.com

So I had to keep it classy so here is my holiday card. Happy Holidays.

Tis the Season, to Party

Last night I kicked off the holiday season by attending a holiday gathering with friends.

Sadly it was not here because I could have had a crazy night with all of the lights.

The party was here and the lights were substituted for food.

Steps to own the night:

Step one: A kitty Christmas sweater
Step two: A santa hat

Step 3: A game of power hour

Step 4: unnecessary trip to the bar

All in all a good, if not remembered night.

Like a Hermit - Speaking for the very first time

I need to stop trying to sort stuff out and get back to the road, but sometimes a little legwork has to be done before you can get the legs working again.

The Snow Keeps Coming

Another night turns into another morning of waking up with a covering of snow on the ground. This winter looks to be one of our biggest in years if this keeps up.

Consider this snow claimed in the name of Jonny Walker

The Epic - 30 Min Video of South America

So I mashed up all of my videos from South America to make just one for the entire trip. It lasts 30 minutes so I applaud you if you make it the whole way through and I apologize for its length.

Now to start looking toward Europe. The Jonnywalkeradventures will be heading East as early as January to check out new places. Wish me luck.

Leaving the Mountain

My return to the mountain this year was very short-lived. With all the issues with housing and the pressing need for me to focus my efforts on my thesis I decided that it was in my best interest to not work this season.

Here is the cheesy video of heading out.

This will give me the time to focus on school and to start planning and packing for my European leg of the adventure that is slated to start sometime in January. Wish me luck.

Red Rover - Hot Dog Place

The other night I met up with some friends on the mountain for a big after Thanksgiving feast at the Hot Dog Place or Red Rover to those who can read the sign.
I enjoyed a corndog and some tater tots, and we all enjoyed 40s

This guy enjoyed the bag almost as much as his 40

This is what happens post 40

Iguazu Falls - VIDEO

Just another vid from South America. Just one or two left before I have to head out on another trip.

Living in Hell

My season on the mountain has begun and I have just ranked bottom of the mountain employee housing. This means that I have to commute up and down the mountain to sleep and shower. This would be fine if the roads weren't constantly snow covered and icy, and I had no social life.

Right now I am staying in a hotel room that has no refrigerator, no means of cooking (minus the iron), and internet only if I put my computer in the windowsill. There are 2 beds, but I have the feeling that a roommate is to come. If that is the case, this could be a very short season for this guy.

River Trail Detox

After a night that involve such things as this (Yes mine is apple juice) I needed a little detox of the system and Bob actually talked me into going for a jog.

I think most parties had a good time

and BOB unveiled his Zoolander Blue Steel look.

The trail was much needed. Yes I actually ran (a little bit)

Caught some local music last night downtown at the Wild Bean here in Lewisburg http://www.thewildbrew.com/

What a difference a day makes.

Since returning home I have been lazy and sleeping most of my time away trying to recover from the 3 months of travel, but with some work on the horizon I decided it was time to come out of hibernation and clean up a bit. I opted to quit cutting my own hair and re-introduced my face to the razor

Some before and after shots

It was easier lose the wieght off my face than trying to lose the weight that I gained in South America.
Hopefully doing some snowboarding tomorrow... pics to come.

Shots of Work and Home

Now that I am back in the US I am getting ready to start work for the winter. Here are some shots of where I work and where I live.

New Camera Has Arrived

My trusty camera that started the adventure with me died on the last leg so I have replaced it with the Olympus Stylus 850 SW. It is supposed to be waterproof and shockproof so I am certain I will take advantage of that this snowboarding season. If it can't keep up with me I will be sure to let you know.

LIMA VIDEO

Videos to come

I have decided to make some videos from my collection of vids and pics from South America. First stop Lima to come soon.

Adios Lima, Hello Florida

Yesterday I said my goodbyes to South America... Of course I neglected my responsibilities to buy anyone presents from my travels, but I did manage to pick myself up a small collection of bootleg DVDs.

Last night at midnight I boarded my flight for Fort Lauderdale, Florida

The people boarding a discount airline all seem so lifeless as they get on because they know they can't complain about the service.

I arrived in Fort Lauderdale before 6am this morning and caught the train up to West Palm Beach where my mother was waiting to pcik me up.

Now I am relaxing at my Aunt's house for the night before starting on my trip home tomorrow. It has been a wild one.

Definitely a massive video to come in the future. I am thinking of making it an epic that takes 3+hours to watch, but for now I am going to go back to sleep.

On my way out of South America

Now that I am closing out this leg of my adventures in South America in Lima and doing such wonderful things such as talk down the price of bootlegged DVD down to under 70 cents American at the massive Polvos Azules *Similar to a black market... I am ready to go home. With my camera still down I will just boost some random pics and show some airport shots. I fly out of Lima's airport at Midnight tonight en route to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Six hours to go until American soil... wish me luck.

Then just the 12 hours or more in a car to be i West Virginia again.
