Lima Update

Apparently, I have not been posting enough to appease my nephew so I will just let everyone know that I am in Lima safe and sound.  My flight left from DC at 7am and I was dropped off by friend of mine that live outside DC.  A definite thanks go out to Desiree and Brandon for all of their hospitality.

I then flew to Fort Lauderdale where I noticed a familiar girl sitting across from me in the terminal.  Turns out it was a friend of mine from Snowshoe Mountain who was on her way back to DC after spending some time in Lima.

I have taken a total of 5 pictures so far so here is pretty much everything.  I just snapped the last two from the window at the apartment that was rented for the 11 days that I will be in Lima before taking a short road trip.  I am staying in the Miraflores area of Lima and have been on a steady diet of street vendor sandwiches, ceviche, and cheap beverages.

Hopefully this update will keep my nephew happy for a day or so...

Dancing Halloween Style

Halloween - Northern Virginia Style

In my constant pursuit of fun I shot up to Northern Virginia to visit some friends and by the look of things carve a pumpkin. (this took a whole 3 minutes to clean and carve in time for the trick-or-treaters.

This was the gang... the Mystery Gang

I brought the douchy-frat-boy out of retirement.

The night was an epic success and I actually survived the trip.

What a fun time... Happy Halloween.

Adios England

After returning to England I spent some time in and around London with my friend Bex that I met while traveling in Argentina. Sadly I was all pictured out and didn't get any real pictures except for this one from the train station in Chorleywood (quite a happening locale).

Other than that I have spent my time here saying goodbye to my friends

I will miss that even on a Monday things can be busy (now back to WV) where things are barely busy on the weekend.

I am not sure what to type about this photo but I thought I'd throw it into the mix anyway.

I fly out tomorrow at 8am into Dublin and then from there to Washington DC.

I don't want to pack - I want to ride

Now that my short trip to Snowshoe is over and I am packing and working on my thesis (yes I secretly go to school) all I really want to do is get one last day in on Sunday (and maybe a wild night on Saturday).

Bob on Lower Shea's

Me and Tanner in Bob's goggles.

Bob and I liftin it.

That being said I might shirk all responsibilities and go back tomorrow only to have to charge home late Sunday and do some heavy packing before flying out of DC on Tuesday en route to England.

Shock at the Airport

On the 2nd I flew out of Dulles at 3:15 and Amy flew out of Reagan at 3:00, at least that was the plan. I dropped her off early at the airport and headed back to catch my flight only to find that my flight was delayed and they had emailed me to let me know that I needed to catch the 12pm flight earlier that day, of course I did not get it.

In the end it was worked out that I would taxi to Reagan and fly out the same time as Amy. She was shocked to see me.

By the end of the day I was in Panama and she was stuck in Boston for the night after her flight got delayed. Hooray Delta.

PANAMA

Today Amy flies back to England from Reagan Airport here in DC. Needless to say I might be a little bit depressed, so to fight depression I will be flying out of Dulles Airport (pictured) here in DC en route to Panama.

Visitor from the UK

Amy (From my travels in Peru and Argentina) arrived yesterday to the United States. She has been back in England saving up money to travel again and was convinced to fly over for New Years for her first visit to the USA.

She flew into the Dulles Airport in DC

I then got to play the role of tour guide and took her to see the sights in DC. The White house was all lit up for the holidays.

Lincoln was doing it big as well. (That is me in the front left...)

After the sights I acclimated her to American cuisine by taking her to one of our many chain restaurants fro RIBS. Apparently ribs in the UK just are not the same, and the portion size is a little different.

After a night in DC we came back to Lewisburg and met up with BOB.

Washington Nationals Game

Since the Orioles are out of town this week I made my way down to Washington DC to see the Nationals host the Phillies.

Here is a view of the field

and a view of the outfield bar.

Tickets were priced around $27 but a group of girls gave me a ticket at the gate so my admission was free... too bad the beer was not. Of course the Nationals lost the game.
