Adios England

After returning to England I spent some time in and around London with my friend Bex that I met while traveling in Argentina. Sadly I was all pictured out and didn't get any real pictures except for this one from the train station in Chorleywood (quite a happening locale).

Other than that I have spent my time here saying goodbye to my friends

I will miss that even on a Monday things can be busy (now back to WV) where things are barely busy on the weekend.

I am not sure what to type about this photo but I thought I'd throw it into the mix anyway.

I fly out tomorrow at 8am into Dublin and then from there to Washington DC.

Leaving Birmingham

Knowing that my lease is ending and that I have booked a flight to Prague for the 31st of July I went out and had a few drinks with some friends. Not really sure what the motivation for the photos were but I think Dani (top left) started the trend. Here is the rundown from top left to right the whole way down. Dani, Amy, Ben, This Guy, Ben, Luke, Emma, Hayley.

All in all it was a pretty good night... for a Sunday.

PUB GOLF in Moseley

To celebrate Amy's birthday we had a pub golf night. It requires that you dress up like a golfer, do a pub crawl, and score your drinks based on how many pulls you down it in with a different drink at each pub.

Brummy Life (AKA Back in Birmingham)

Now that I am back in Brum I have been meeting up with old friends and sleeping for days at a time. If anybody actually checked back on here far enough they would see the three of us together back when I was in Argentina.

Since I have returned there has also been some celebration that left my mouth tasting of tequila the next day.

The other day I also went out to do some shopping at the Bull Ring here in Birmingham and noted the famous skyline.

I have also noted the innate ability of the Brits to name companies in English.... check out the name on the right.

More Nights in Brum

In the near future my life will start to pick up again in pursuit of stories from foreign land, but right now I am enjoying a little bit of time in one place both in the flat during the day and out on the town here in Birmingham during the nights.

First major event on the agenda is the 15th of March when I will be going to see a football (soccer) match between Aston Villa and Tottenham here in England... more to come

Birthday Round 1

The need of celebration and the lack of a weekend for my birthday (which is March 4) Amy decided we would celebrate it this past Friday (Feb 27).

Needless to say it has now been referred to as my not-birthday. First her Mother and Gramps came through and took me out for a couple of pints at the Fighting Cocks. Needless to say, Amy never informed them that my birthday was not actually until the 4th.

That night I also chose to start the night out at the dive bar Wetherspoon's because I was too lazy to leave Moseley.

Here are some shots.

Rob and Ben(on the right)

Amy and Dani were also there (as was Ben)

OK so let's just say there were a few people there and that Ben tried hard to be in every picture.

Needless to say it was a very loving occasion.... note that this pic did not have Ben in it.

Thanks to everyone for celebrating my not-birthday.

Shock at the Airport

On the 2nd I flew out of Dulles at 3:15 and Amy flew out of Reagan at 3:00, at least that was the plan. I dropped her off early at the airport and headed back to catch my flight only to find that my flight was delayed and they had emailed me to let me know that I needed to catch the 12pm flight earlier that day, of course I did not get it.

In the end it was worked out that I would taxi to Reagan and fly out the same time as Amy. She was shocked to see me.

By the end of the day I was in Panama and she was stuck in Boston for the night after her flight got delayed. Hooray Delta.

PANAMA

Today Amy flies back to England from Reagan Airport here in DC. Needless to say I might be a little bit depressed, so to fight depression I will be flying out of Dulles Airport (pictured) here in DC en route to Panama.

Living it up - Fancy

Now that Amy is here, I decided to class it up a bit. Last night we went to the Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs with my parents. It was quite the classy ordeal.

Here is a video of the day. (Note - we started out with fine American cuisine)

The Epic - 30 Min Video of South America

So I mashed up all of my videos from South America to make just one for the entire trip. It lasts 30 minutes so I applaud you if you make it the whole way through and I apologize for its length.

Now to start looking toward Europe. The Jonnywalkeradventures will be heading East as early as January to check out new places. Wish me luck.

Iguazu Unkut - VID

At the end of my time at Iguazu Falls I had to say goodbye to yet another family member. Amy (AKA Yams) headed toward Brazil. With any luck she will be traveling until April of next year, and with a little more luck I will get here to send me some updates from her travel as my "traveling correspondent".

After Iguazu I took the second leg of my journey to Lima to a little place called Resistencia Argentina. Yaaay for 12 more hours on a bus

Amy and I got in late at night and didn't stay in the best place the first night. Come to find out the town is very charming and filled with statues.

Typical Skyline shot.

Today is another rough day because Amy is departing as well. She has traveled for a year now and has to return to Buenos Aires to fly out the 4th of November. With any luck I will be seeing her and Yams again in a few months when jonnywalkeradventures attempts to conquer Europe.

Iguazu Falls, Argentina

To validate the long bus journey north we headed into the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls. At our hostel we managed to recruit one more to our group for the day. Fyonn from Australia was the unlucky guy that had to make the journey with us.

This is a quick shot of me standing in front of one of the smaller falls that is considered large by most standards.

Granted when one of the walls looks like this it is not exactly a big waterfall.

I am fairly certain I took nearly 200 pics and a bunch of vids. Keep checking back for vids from the falls.

To end the day we headed up to the massive fall that makes the place epic. Needless to say a torrential thunderstorm blew in. We hurried to get to the end despite the painful rain and our lack of rain gear. It was amazing once we reached the end. By the time that we got to the viewpoint the rain was so hard that you could barely keep your eyes open, but there was not another person on the platform. It was windy and the rain was stinging, but I wouldn't have changed a second of it. It was easily one of the best moments of my trip thus far.

Of course somehow I managed to get a pic in the rain of Fyonn despite the rain. Most of my pics turned out really rough.
