Beach and Big Ass Sandwich

There isn't really a clever theme to this blog post as much as there is a take-no-prisoners title that has obviously drawn you in.  With the weather getting nicer here I am spending more and more time on the beach and out in the sun.  If I make it back to the States in late November I fully expect to look out of place this winter with my epic tan that is starting now.

And to not disappoint I will show you an example of the late-night (drunk person) food that is readily available in Chile.  This sandwich is simple in construction but the size is what make is.  For about 4 dollars US you can get this sandwich which is larger than a human head.  I used a starburst to show size but you really don't understand until you buy one at 2 in the morning.

 It was delicious.... I think.

Heading to Berlin

After closing out the Prague chapter of the adventure I found myself at another train station and this time heading to Berling Germany where I would be doing a little couchsurfing.

Pictured below is this guy and Juma. He was my host for my first 2 nights in Berlin and the time was enjoyed. The first night we attended a beer-mile like event that had over 300 beers from around the world.

Then early the next morning we headed up tp the Baltic Sea (3 hours on a packed train) but it was a great day.

The water was chilly but not unbearable and a group of us sat out and enjoyed the sun and the company. The trip was unexpected because I had planned to sight see in Berlin but a beach is always a great way to spend a day.

Luckily we figured out that the busy train back could be avoided so we played games on a less crowded (yet slightly slower train).

Essaouria, Morocco

After coming back to Marrakech after the Sahara desert I caught the bus to Essaouria and took in the beach life. (Granted the bus broke down en route so the 3 hour trip took about 5). The town has a great beach although it is quite windy but given the heat in the rest of the country the breeze was welcome.

The wind does create some epic kiteboarding conditions... a sport currently out of my price range.

Africa is the land where the sun sets.

The atmosphere is laid back and even the lifeguards know it.

It was great fun and a nice change of pace from the streets of Marrakech.

Gone to Wales.... for the bank holiday

In my constant pursuit of new countries I found myself in Wales for the long weekend here in England.

I passed through Swansea and spent most of my time in the town of Mumbles on the coast.

The pier was packed with other people on holiday

There is even a castle in town

and a great bridge separates it from the rest of Britain.
Granted I spent most of my time on this little couch with a cold one in hand for some quality relaxation.

Still in Acapulco with the Fam

Having met up with parents in Acapulco is still a shock to my system. My days have slowed down drastically from the pace of hosteling around the world. With nothing to do with my days I spend my time on the beach, at the pool, and eating anything I can get my hands on.

Pic with the parental unit

This is how I travel when all of us go out. 7 pack into a small car which is ironic because in the US, Mexicans travel 7 deep in the car but here it is the gringos.

Here is a shot of the Grand Mayan Resort here in Acapulco.

This is how I spend my days. The surf has been breaking funny here recently so no time attempting to surf.

Chincoteague 08

SO Bob invited me on vacation...

I packed

Since my family was busy I said goodbye to Bob's... ignore what his dad is doing

The days were good

The nights were better

Just ask Bob... yes there are two pwople underneath him

There were good times

and emotional ones

(OK totally off the topic but if you see this guy... run)

Bob learned that he couldn't buy love (yes he is holding a quarter)

And I continued my WV tradition of showering outside.

This picture is just funny

Brian and Bob got a little too close

and we almost ran head first into a tractor trailer

Bob was yelling to "Bring it on!"

Then I became "The Man"

and Bob got a job at Chippendale's

The food was good

I was elected King

King of the Beach that is

To celebrate we rocked out

Me and Chris rocked these sweet glow-stick shades out one night

He used them to catch moths

I used them to catch ladies

and in the end we all felt a little bit like this

Beach update

I am currently at chincoteague island in VA with Bob and some of his family. As I am typing this I am sitting on a dock on the bayside of the island taking in some sun... life is rough. Here is a pic of the view, well I have to go do what it is that I do.

Brief Time in the Burg

Here is just a short summary of what I have done in the burg since returning from the beaches. Of course today I am heading back to the beach for a bonus week. Chincoteague Island, North of Virginia Beach is my next stop for a week or so.

I did some grilling in the backyard. Bob showed up wearing this T-shirt.

Josh laughed at him

I thought it was well played

The next day I grilled up some serious ribs... I would have an after picture, but I ate them too fast.

Then I went to the Doc and he told me that I could start running and doing anything else on my gimp leg that I wanted to. Great Success...
To celebrate our last night in the burg Bob wanted to dance, so he started in the car.

While I was out I bumped into Raz. He said that taking this picture violated his contract... he also said a lot of other stuff that didn't make a lot of sense.

Now to the beach
